Oakmont Senior Living is seeking an Activity Director for Ivy Park at Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. This full-time role (Sunday-Thursday) offers a dynamic, resident-focused environment where you lead engaging activities, coordinate staff, and promote wellness and social interaction among residents.

You will recruit and schedule Activity Assistants and volunteers, ensure safety, and collaborate across departments to deliver meaningful experiences for seniors in our Ivy Living community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires valid driver's license with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Experience coordinating activities and supervising staff or volunteers is preferred.
• Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide an engaging, creative social atmosphere with resident participation in activities and events.
• Lead and actively participate in residents’ activities and outings.
• Recruit, develop, manage, and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Foster teamwork across departments and with co-workers.
• Able to drive community vehicles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Actively engage in residents’ activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities, excursions, and special events.
• Recruit, develop, manage and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires current Class C, prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents’ needs.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers
• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
