Job summary

Oakmont Management Group is seeking an Activity Director for The Ivy Mountain View in Denver to plan, coordinate, and lead engaging programs that enhance residents' independence and quality of life. You will manage budgets and schedules, promote participation, and ensure safety and compliance.

You will recruit and supervise Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Volunteers, and work closely with other departments to deliver a warm, vibrant community for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires current Class C license; Class B or C with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience planning activities and assessing residents' needs.
• Prefer 1 year supervisory experience with staff and volunteers.
• Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Criminal background check and health screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide an engaging social atmosphere and promote resident participation with high-quality activities and events.
• Lead activities personally and encourage resident involvement in excursions and programs.
• Recruit, develop, manage and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Volunteers.
• Maintain a safe environment by following established safety standards.
• Foster teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
• Ability to operate Community vehicles when needed.

The Activity Director is responsible for all programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for the Community in order to enhance the residents' independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Provide an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Actively engage in residents' activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities, excursions, and special events.
• Recruit, develop, manage and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires current Class C, prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents' needs.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers
• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
