At Sunrise, our Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for engaging residents in familiar routines of daily living through personalized Life Skills that "Create Pleasant Days". These Life Skills are tasks residents enjoyed in the past, which can still bring a sense of success, meaning, and purpose. The manager designs Life Skills reflecting each resident's interests and provides encouragement, prompts, and hands-on assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Part-time Memory Care Activity Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate residents' interests and involvement in Life Skills.
  • Develop Life Skills tailored to each resident's needs and abilities.
  • Engage residents in Life Skills throughout the day and evening.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of Life Skills programming supplies.
  • Assist residents with daily care of animals and/or plants as part of the Life Skills program, if applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with memory-impaired seniors.
  • High School diploma or GED; additional certification(s) may be required by state regulations.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage residents; adapt life skills to cognitive and functional abilities.
  • Inspire and motivate volunteers and team members to engage residents in meaningful activities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work semi-independently following community procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new applications.
