Cambridge Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking an Activity Assistant for a part-time role primarily on Saturdays and Sundays at our California facility in Redlands. The role supports resident care plans through planning and conducting activities, with emphasis on dignity and respect. Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: minimum 6 months in skilled nursing preferred. Must read, write, and speak English and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct activities for residents.
• Involve residents and families in planning when possible.
• Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary.
• Ensure charted activity progress notes are descriptive and detailed.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
• Follow Infection and Control policies and Safety procedures.
• Report occupational exposures to a supervisor immediately.
• Protect residents' files and data with confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Abide by facility policies including not disclosing user IDs/passwords.

This is a part time position. Mainly Saturdays and Sundays.

SNF or similar experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of your job position is to assist in the planning and implementation of activities as they meet the needs of the resident care plans in accordance with current federal, state and local standards that govern the facility, and as directed by the Director of Activities.

Activity Assistant will treat each resident fairly, kindly, and show them dignity and respect. They will knock on the resident’s door before entering. They will greet them upon entering their room. They will refer to each resident by their name. They will communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively when speaking to residents, family members, visitors, all staff and governmental agencies. They will work cooperatively with all departments and multidisciplinary teams. They will demonstrate patience, initiative and willingness to assist residents that may be difficult or in discomfort. They will relate all pertinent information concerning a resident’s condition to a charge nurse as required. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, organizing and conducting activities for the facility
• Involving residents and family members in the planning whenever possible
• Arranging transportation for field trips when necessary
• Ensuring all charted activity progress notes are descriptive and detailed
• Coordinating activities with other departments and working collaboratively with all staff
• Following Infection and Control policies and Safety and Sanitation procedures
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Protecting each residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards
• Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords

REQUIREMENTS

Working Conditions
