Job summary

Arbor Hill Assisted Living in Providence, RI, is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant for weekend coverage (9 AM–5 PM, Saturday and Sunday). The role involves assisting the Activity Director, planning monthly activities, and leading groups to enrich residents’ lives, with focus on independence and compassionate care.

Must have experience with seniors, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a team.

Arbor Hill Assisted Living is looking for a part-time Activities Assistant to join our team. We are located in the Federal Hill area of Providence, RI.

This is a part-time, every weekend position. Scheduled shift time is 9AM-5PM, Saturday and Sunday.

Working in the Activities Department, you will be enriching the lives of our residents. Must be able to work independently and commit to working every weekend.

Duties

• Assist the Activity Director with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the activities program.


• Assist with planning and perform regularly scheduled activities that are on the monthly calendar.


• Responsible for leading and implementing one-on-one, small group and large group activities according to the programming schedule.


• Supports, encourages, and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups.

Experience

• Has worked with senior citizens in nursing home or institutional setting.


• Has been a volunteer working with senior citizens.


• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Education

Must be a high school student of at least 16 years old, high school graduate or equivalent.
