Job summary

Bay Marina Post Acute in Oakland is seeking an Activities Aide to support residents with therapeutic and diversional activities, and to carry out related administrative tasks under federal, state and company guidelines. • Certified either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Two years of experience in a social or recreational program setting.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience in long‑term care setting or related health care field.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills; initiative and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with Federal, State and Company requirements.
• Carries out support tasks relating to patient activities correctly and on schedule.
• Ensures resident activity calendars and communications are updated and posted in a timely manner as well as delivery and communication of patient mail daily.
• Participates in special resident events and outings ensuring necessary supplies are on hand and returned appropriately.
• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adheres to Company standards for resolving consumer concerns and ensures patient/resident rights are protected.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Performs patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with Federal, State and Company requirements.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• Updates and maintains resident activity records.
• Participates in meetings and ensures creation of necessary communications and documentation, as required.
• Attends required meetings and in-service training.
• Assists with decorating center to reflect current season or holiday.
• Meets with consultants, as required.

Qualifications

• Should be certified either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Two year’s experience in a social or recreational program setting.
• Strong proven written and verbal English communication skills for business necessity.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to use own initiative with solid problem solving skills.
• Experience in long‑term care setting or related health care field.
