Job summary

Carriage Square Rehab and Healthcare Center in Kentucky is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a quality activity program, engaging residents and promoting teamwork.

You will help lead groups, record participation, coordinate crafts, accompany residents on outings, and assist with decorating and calendars, with hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum 10 hours in-service training per year related to recreation/activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents to, from, and with activities to enable maximum participation.
• Record activity attendance and participation in group and individual programs.
• Lead assigned groups and individual activities.
• Assist in maintaining volunteer records.
• Coordinate arts and crafts programs for residents.
• Review activity care plans and assist in activities aligned with the plan.
• Provide residents with current activity calendars.
• Assist in birthday recognition programs.
• Participate in community outings and events as requested.
• Escort residents to outside appointments as needed.
• Help stock and monitor resident store.
• Report incidents/accidents to nurse immediately and to administrator as required.
• Observe and report repairs and service issues.
• Attend departmental meetings and inservices as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director.

About the Role:

Carriage Square Rehab and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activity Assistant to assist the Activity Director in implementing a quality activity program, motivating others, and emphasizing teamwork. This is a full-time opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents to, from, and with activities to enable maximum participation
• Record activity attendance and participation in both group and individual programs
• Lead assigned groups and individual activities
• Assist in maintaining volunteer records
• Coordinate arts and crafts programs for all levels of residents
• Review resident activity care plans and assist in providing activities consistent with the plan
• Assist in seasonal and holiday decorating of the facility
• Provide each resident with a current activity calendar
• Assist in maintaining an on-going program for resident birthday recognition
• Participate in community outings and special events as requested
• Escort residents to outside appointments, as needed
• Help stock and monitor resident store, as needed
• Report resident incidents and accidents to the nurse immediately
• Report personal injuries to the Office Manager, or designee
• Report any suspected or observed resident abuse to the Administrator, or designee
• Observe and report needed repairs and service issues
• Attend all departmental meetings and/or inservices as required
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Activity Director

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent
• Must be able to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Must acquire a minimum of ten (10) hours in-service training per year, relating to recreation/activities
