Job summary

Murrieta Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the planning and execution of resident activities in alignment with care plans and regulatory standards. The role reports to the Director of Activities, fostering patience, initiative, and teamwork with staff and residents.

The position requires basic education and communication skills, and involves collaboration with nursing and other departments to enhance resident wellbeing and engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in skilled nursing preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing and conducting activities for the facility.
• Involving residents and family members in the planning whenever possible.
• Arranging transportation for field trips when necessary.
• Ensuring all charted activity progress notes are descriptive and detailed.
• Coordinating activities with other departments and working collaboratively with all staff.
• Following Infection and Control policies and Safety and Sanitation procedures.
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
• Protecting each residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards.
• Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords.

We are looking for one Full Time and one Part Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Activity Assistant job position is to assist in the planning and implementation of activities as they meet the needs of the resident care plans in accordance with current federal, state and local standards that govern the facility, and as directed by the Director of Activities.

The Activity Assistant will demonstrate patience, initiative and willingness to assist residents that may be difficult or in discomfort. They will relate all pertinent information concerning a resident’s condition to a charge nurse as required. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, organizing and conducting activities for the facility
• Involving residents and family members in the planning whenever possible

REQUIREMENTS
