Job summary

Majestic Care Middletown is looking for an Activities Assistant to organize and participate in activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations to enhance residents' daily lives.

You will use pet, music, and art therapies, decorate for events, develop and post monthly calendars, lead activities, promote community involvement, and maintain attendance records to support a warm, engaging living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Activity Assistant Certification preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.
• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
