Job summary

East Ridge Village in Florida is seeking a PRN or Part Time Activity Assistant to develop and implement lifestyle programming that promotes healthy living, wellbeing, engagement, and growth for residents.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly activity calendars, planning programs that offer physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities, coordinating holidays and decorations, and documenting resident participation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• An Associate degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• One year of related experience and/or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement activity programs according to the monthly calendar.
• Collaborate in planning activities that promote physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
• Assist in coordinating holiday decorations and events for the community.
• Prepare, organize, and distribute the monthly calendar of events.
• Decorate activity areas and manage supplies.
• Observe residents and gather feedback to improve programs.
• Document resident participation in programs and self-directed activities.
• Communicate changes and program effectiveness to the Activities Supervisor.
• Interact hospitably with residents, guests, and staff.
• Maintain resident privacy when sharing information.
• Distribute monthly calendars, flyers, and resident mail.
• Support resident council and family circle duties.
• Assess residents upon intake to align care plans with lifestyle.
• Keep activity spaces clean and safe.

Essential Job Duties

• Prepare and implement activity programs in adherence to the monthly calendar.
• Collaborate in the planning of activity programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
• Collaborate in the planning of appropriate programs for holidays and special events; assist in coordinating holiday decorations for the community.
• Collaborate in the preparation, organization, and distribution of the calendar of events each month.
• Collaborate in decorating appropriate areas.
• Collaborate in storing supplies appropriately.
• Observe residents participating in programs to gauge their enjoyment and obtain feedback to improve programming.
• Document resident participation in programs and self-directed activities.
• Communicate resident changes and program effectiveness with Activities Supervisor.
• Interact with residents, guests, and staff in an atmosphere of hospitality.
• Protect the privacy of the resident when communicating oral and written information.
• Collect and pass out monthly calendars, event flyers, and resident mail.
• Carry out resident council & family circle duties.
• Assessing residents upon intake to ensure care plan leads to highest quality of life and reflects previous lifestyle choices.
• Keep activity areas maintained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required.
• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
