Job summary

Allure of Geneseo is seeking an Activity Assistant to support implementing the activities program for residents, aiming to bring joy and engagement to our community. You will assist in planning and coordinating activities, document interactions in records, and help residents participate in programs that foster social connection and community reintegration.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to follow written and oral instructions, and diligent, timely documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in planning and implementing individual and group activities based on residents' needs.
• Document all interactions with residents and/or families in assessment, care plans, and progress notes as required by federal and state regulations.
• Assist with planning and conducting activity programs to help residents return to the community.
• Support evening and weekend functions as necessary.
• Schedule and supervise volunteers.
• Implement community events related to residents' interests.
• Schedule and implement in-room activities for residents who cannot leave their rooms.
• Maintain records of participation in activities and resident response or lack of response to activities.
• Prepare materials and equipment for activities and maintain an adequate supply of materials.
• Deliver personal mail to residents and read upon request.
• Interact with residents in accordance with resident rights and other regulations and facility policies.
• Observe infection control procedures related to the Activity Program.
