Job Summary

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

An Activities Associate is responsible for leading recreational and social activities for individuals or groups. The role involves promoting engaging programs that enhance physical, mental, and social well-being, interacting with participants to assess needs and interests, and tailoring activities accordingly. The role may also include administrative tasks, maintaining supplies and equipment, and ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute programs, activities, events, and entertainment to enrich residents' lives.
• Promote initiatives that foster spiritual, cognitive, social, physical, and creative expressions.
• Communicate upcoming activities to encourage participation.
• Assess residents' abilities to determine appropriate activity levels.
• Prepare materials and set up spaces for activities, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Lead and document group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, physical exercises, and social events.
• Collaborate with staff from nursing, therapy, and administration to support residents' care and engagement.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School / GED

Experience: 0-1 years

Licenses and Certifications

Valid and unencumbered driver's license required. If providing transportation, maintain appropriate licenses and certifications, including DOT physical in Kentucky.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, stretch, stoop, walk, and move intermittently. Able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, families, and external contacts.
