Position: Activity Assistant

The Activity Assistant assists the Resident Programs team in leading and executing resident programs that engage all the senses and provide purposeful daily social and physical events meeting state requirements. The Activity Assistant supports the Program Director, provides transportation when needed, and implements resident activities daily.

Shift: Full-time with rotating weekends

Qualifications

• A high school degree; additional college experience preferred but not required
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge
• Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current driver’s license, and willingness to drive a passenger van

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercises, social, recreational, and educational events
• Conduct all transportation, including medical transportation for residents
• Maintain knowledge of community services and events, incorporating them into activity schedules
• Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff
• Promote teamwork and a positive attitude among staff, attending activities with other disciplines as necessary
• Evaluate and adjust activities to maintain quality and consistency for residents
• Perform other duties as assigned
