Job summary

The Laurel at Vernon Hills Memory Care in Vernon Hills, IL seeks an enthusiastic Life Enrichment Assistant to support residents with meaningful activities and a holistic wellness approach. You will assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering program activities that align with our person-centered care philosophy.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills for word processing.
• Minimum of one year Senior Living experience preferred Memory Care.
• Current and valid state driver’s license or CDL as required.
• Driving record must be in good standing and acceptable to the insurer.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment Director in coordinating and conducting resident activities.
• Provide activity programming to enhance residents' lives and support person-centered care.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and newsletter; participate in planning.
• May drive the community van for outings and ensure resident privacy and dignity.
• Follow infection control procedures and complete required training.

Activity Aide "Life Enrichment Assistant"

Responsibilities of the Life Enrichment Assistant

• Assist the Life Enrichment Director in coordinating and conducting resident activities.
• Provide residents with activity programming in a manner to enhance their lives and promote our person-centered care philosophy.
• Ensure that each resident’s needs, limitations, and preferences are evaluated and provide residents with corresponding activity programming in a manner that supports our holistic approach to wellness.
• Assist in creating the monthly activity calendar and newsletter as needed.
• May be required to drive the community van for outings.
• Ensure residents are provided with privacy, respect, and dignity.
• Follows standard precautions and infection control procedures.
• Completes state required training upon hire and annually.

Required Experience

• Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills for word processing.
• A minimum of one (1) year Senior Living experience preferred Memory Care.
• Current and valid state driver’s license or current and/or valid CDL license as required.
• Driving record must be in good standing, free of any moving violations and acceptable to the insurance carrier.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language
