Job summary

Royalton Manor, a Ciena Healthcare facility in Michigan, is seeking an individual to support the Activity Director or Assistant Activity Director in leading activities that enhance residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being. You will help create a warm, engaging environment and foster a sense of community for residents and families.

Responsibilities include assisting residents to activities and outings, maintaining records, and collaborating with volunteers and staff to deliver

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation therapy, and long-term care preferred.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates activity programs as planned to meet residents' needs and interests.
• Assist Residents to and from activities and outings as scheduled.
• Maintain good rapport with family members and encourage family support.
• Complete attendance and participation records in a timely manner.
• Provide input to assessment and evaluation of residents' participation.
• Communicate concerns and responses to interventions to supervisor.
• Support residents' individual needs, preferences, and routines.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
• Assist with volunteers and volunteer programs as requested.
• Clean equipment and materials used for activities.
• Participate in long-term care survey, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Facilitates activity programs as planned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each Resident.
• Assist Resident to and from activity programs and outings as scheduled, as required.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Completes appropriate records indicating Resident’s attendance and participation in individual and group activities in a timely basis.
• Provide input to the assessment and evaluation of Residents' participation when requested. Communicates Resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
• Supports Residents' individual needs, preferences, customary routines, concerns and choices.
• Assists with escorting Residents to and from activities.
• Assist and work with individual volunteers and volunteer programs at the request of the Activity Director.
• Cleans equipment and materials used for activities.
• Participates in long-term care survey process, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
