Job summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Activity Aide to support residents with engaging activities and social interaction. The role focuses on planning and leading recreational events, games, and crafts to promote well-being and community living.

You will build relationships with residents, families and staff, assist with daily activities, and report any changes in health or behavior.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with seniors or in healthcare preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

About the Role:

As an Activity Aide-PT, you will:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing activities for our residents, such as games, arts and crafts, and recreational activities
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, staff, and families to ensure a warm and welcoming environment
• Monitor and report any changes or concerns related to resident behavior or physical well-being
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement activity programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support and assistance to residents with daily activities, such as dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Participate in mealtime activities, such as serving meals and engaging in conversation
• Assist with light housekeeping and maintenance duties, as needed
• Maintain accurate records and data related to resident activity participation and engagement

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
• Demonstrate a passion for providing exceptional care and service to our residents
