Description
Primary Responsibilities

The Activity Aide will assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing residents’ activity programs. They collaborate with the Activity Director to organize various employee and non-employee events for the facility.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitate individual and group activities tailored to residents' needs.
  • Ensure activities are available for residents of varying functional levels.
  • Assist with scheduling beauty and barber services.
  • Provide one-on-one activities for bedfast or non-participating residents and document accordingly.
  • Help prepare and post the monthly activity calendar in visible areas and distribute to residents.
  • Assist in generating the facility newsletter.
  • Participate in community events of interest.
  • Attend necessary in-services.
  • Assist residents to and from activities.
  • Support residents' council and weekend/night activities as needed.
  • Deliver daily resident mail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator.
Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements
  • A school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Licensing Requirements
  • A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in activity or recreation roles in long-term care or related fields is preferred.
Physical Demands

The physical demands are representative but not exhaustive, and accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. Regular communication is required. The physical tasks include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and other movements, with varying frequency.
