Job summary

Department of Health and Social Services seeks an Activity Aide I to engage residents through group and individual activities and coordinate events. You will drive a 15-passenger van for community activities and assist in treatment planning and recording progress.

Ideal candidates have experience leading activities, comfort with persons with disabilities, and a valid driver's license. The role includes maintaining records and collaborating with community partners to support resident care.

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting group activities with diverse populations.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write narrative progress reports.
  • Valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and instructs clients/patients in activities such as games, arts and crafts, and group events.
  • Plans and organizes trips and special events.
  • Observes and records progress, problems and incidents.
  • Conducts initial and ongoing client assessments and interest surveys.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements activity plans with the treatment team.
  • May drive van or school bus and ensure safety during trips outside the facility.
