You will work directly with residents, assess activity needs, coordinate with the Activity Director, prepare daily materials, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment that supports residents’ quality of life and wellbeing.

Activities Assistant

Pay Range: $12-$14 per hour.

Every‑other weekend required.

As an Activity Assistant, you will work directly with residents, facilitating activity‑based programs that promote socialization, relaxation, and recreation, and supporting their care plans.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate excellent activity‑based programs to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
• Work with individuals, small groups, and large groups of residents with varied needs.
• Contact each new resident, familiarize them with activity opportunities, and encourage participation; conduct assessments of activity needs.
• Observe participation, gauge enjoyment, gather feedback and provide input to the Activity Director.
• Assist in planning activities that support and maintain the resident’s quality of life and meet state requirements for social, physical, spiritual, and mental health.
• Assist in displaying and distributing the monthly activity calendar.
• Prepare daily materials and supplies needed for the day’s programs and inform the Activity Director of required supplies.
• Keep activity areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform clerical tasks, including records of resident participation and departmental resource needs.
• Assist with decorating for holidays and special events to create a celebratory atmosphere.
• Promote activities to residents with enthusiasm.
• Report medical concerns or observations, injuries, or behavioral incidents.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
