ALIYA of Glenwood is seeking a motivated and creative Activity Director to lead the planning and implementation of engaging programs that enhance our residents' quality of life. The Activity Director will create and oversee meaningful activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, physical engagement, and overall well-being.
Plan, organize, and oversee individual and group activities based on residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
Develop and maintain monthly and weekly activity calendars.
Lead and supervise activity staff, aides, and volunteers.
Encourage consistent resident participation and engagement.
Complete and maintain accurate activity documentation, attendance records, assessments, and care plan information.
Coordinate special events, community outings, holiday programs, and other facility-wide activities.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, and other departments to support residents' overall well-being.
Develop activities that accommodate residents with varying physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.
Manage activity department supplies, inventory, and budget.
Maintain clean, organized, safe, and engaging activity spaces.
Ensure activity programs comply with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies.
Monitor resident participation and adjust programming based on resident feedback and changing needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Certified Activity Director required.
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field preferred.
Previous experience leading activities in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or healthcare setting required.
Strong leadership, communication, creativity, and organizational skills.
Ability to develop and lead engaging programs for residents with varying interests and abilities.
Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused approach.
Ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, and volunteers.
