Care Initiatives in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Unit Coordinator to support daily activity programming for residents in our skilled nursing communities. You will assist the activity director, manage materials, maintain records, and communicate with residents, families, and the health care team to promote engagement and well-being.

Preference for state-approved Activities Director Course or a degree in Therapeutic Recreation; commitment to empathy, respect, and patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of state-approved Activities Director Course or Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation (Preferred).
• Working knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care.
• A strong commitment to helping others and consistently treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• An interest in making everyday FUN and fulfilling for our residents!

Responsibilities

• Assist the activity director in implementing an activity program to meet each resident’s needs.
• Maintain the resources needed for each resident’s activity needs.
• Assist the activity director with required record keeping.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
