Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, offers expanded services at 6225 Sharlands Ave., Northwest Reno. The facility provides acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.

The behavioral health services expand our current 50+ program to serve all adults 18 and older. The department is managed by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients receive individualized care plans involving therapy, activities, medication management, and a secure, compassionate environment available 24/7.

Position Details

This Activity Therapist role is full-time (40 hours/week), with full benefits and a day shift schedule. The individual will oversee activity therapy programs and staff, coordinate recreational activities, and participate in the multidisciplinary team, managing therapy programming from assessment to discharge planning.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Orient new Activity Therapy staff to departmental policies and expectations.
2. Ensure compliance with state and regulatory agencies.
3. Train staff in recreational, therapeutic, and teambuilding equipment usage.
4. Interpret assessments and develop measurable goals and objectives.
