ActivitiesSupervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Activities Supervisor plays a key role in the mission of providing an excellent experience to guests. They do this by overseeing the beach and pool areas while on shift, as well as the Recreation Attendants serving the guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

Oversees the beach and pool area while on shift, as well as those team members on shift in the department. Recreation Supervisor promotes the safety guidelines to ensure the safety of all guests.

Opens and closes the beach areas being sure to complete daily shift checklists as applicable.

Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the beach and pool areas. Supervisor with assign duties as needed for the following: removing litter, sweeping and mopping decks, cleaning all furniture, arranging furniture, replacing missing items, sanitizing trash bins, clearing/sweeping walkways, etc.

Ensures pool and beach equipment such as chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, side tables, water toys/equipment, etc. are set up and taken down or put away properly and are well maintained/cleaned. Issues to and assists guests with them as needed.

Stocks beach and pool towels for guests by obtaining clean towels from laundry, folding, and stacking towels, as well as, returning used towels to the laundry room. Provides towels to guests. Monitors towel inventory to minimize loss.

Assists guests with checking out and checking in beach/pool/watersports equipment. This includes distributing and collecting completed liability waivers, reviewing safety information, etc. Makes sure certain equipment is returned.

Ensures beach and pool rescue equipment are present and in working order. Maintain awareness of guest activity/whereabouts, especially that of children.

Assist with the planning and implementation of property recreational activities as needed.

Assists management with taking inventory of beach and pool supplies as well as equipment.

Takes initiative in finding tasks to work on during slower times and seeks ways to better enhance the guest experience.

Identifies any repairs or safety concerns within the beach and pool area and/or their equipment and reports them to Supervisors immediately.

Assists guests with their questions and concerns (in a manner that is effective, timely, and tactful), referring to management as needed.

Approaches all interactions with guests, vendors, and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Initiates conversations with guests, thanks them, anticipates their needs, seeks their feedback, and takes appropriate action. Consistently practices the “10 and 5 rule,” referring to the guest by name, making appropriate eye contact, and displaying positive/welcoming body language when doing so and ensuring team members do the same.

Remains available to guests at all times while on the clock.

Familiarizes self with emergency procedures and follows accordingly. Reports all injuries to management immediately. Provides assistance to injured guests until help arrives as applicable. Provides basic first aid to any guest (even in not emergency situations) as needed.

Obtains knowledge to provide information and recommendations to guests regarding the property, services, facilities, events, pricing, activities, dining options, directions, and activities/events in the local area. Also obtains knowledge of organizational policies that apply to role and guest service and utilizes it in servicing guests.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified in First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain).

Lifeguard Certification and/or Training preferred, but not necessarily required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Watersports equipment knowledge (for example: kayaking, paddle boarding, kiteboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.).

Organizational guidelines and best practices.

Guest service best practices within the hospitality industry and property expectations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Previous customer service experience helpful.

Previous experience with watersports and equipment helpful. Property software systems (ability to learn software).

Experience:

Two to four years related experience and/or training
