Job summary

Long Beach Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs for residents. You will work under the care plan to provide engaging activities that support residents' social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The role involves coordinating with the Activity Director, preparing materials, and ensuring a welcoming, respectful environment in the activity room.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position, healthcare environment preferred.
• Aptitude for and/or training in arts and crafts required.
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable.
• Commitment to care values and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Respects and upholds residents' rights and knocks before entering rooms.
• Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and/or conducts group or one-to-one activity programs as scheduled.
• Moves and arranges equipment to prepare activity areas.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs as needed.
• Returns materials to proper place and maintains a tidy activity room.
• Assists Activity Director in scheduling activities and distributing calendars.
• Follows care plans to provide daily activities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
• Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar.
• Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
• Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed.
• Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room.
• Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations.
• Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position, in healthcare environment preferred
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable
