Capitol Lakes in downtown Madison is seeking an Activities/Recreation Assistant to support the Activities Coordinator in delivering therapeutic activities and life enrichment programs, with a person-centered care philosophy. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, benefits, and PayActiv daily pay option, with shifts including afternoons and alternating Fridays/Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior living facility, recreation therapy, or related field preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of gerontology, dementia, physiology and anatomy, and/or recreation therapy.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, team building, and leadership skills.
• Computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Coordinator in implementing therapeutic activities and life enrichment programs.
• Support volunteers and lead person-centered activity programs.
• Promote a high level of care through holistic activity design.

Overview

Capitol Lakes is a vibrant Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), conveniently located in the heart of downtown Madison. Capitol Lakes offers flexible scheduling and work life balance, preceptor program/career development opportunities, and PayActiv (daily pay option).

Capitol Lakes is currently looking for an Activities/Recreation Assistant to join our team. This position will assist the Activities Coordinator implement therapeutic activity and life enrichment programs in the facility. You will support volunteers and lead holistically designed activity programs that support person centered care philosophy and a high level of care.

Wage Range: Starting at $19.50 and up ; DOE

About You

• Experience in a senior living facility, recreation therapy, or a related field is preferred.
• Current and valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Working knowledge in gerontology, dementia, physiology and anatomy, and/or recreation therapy.
• Communication skills, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, team building skills, and/or leadership skills.
• Computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.

Potential Schedule

• Monday from 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Tuesday from 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Wednesday from 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Thursday from 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Every other Friday from 1:00-4:00pm
• Every other Saturday (opposite of Fridays) from 9:30am-12:00pm (in Health Center), and 1:00pm-4:00pm (in Assisted Living)
