Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Lifestyle Enrichment Guide to plan and implement activities that support residents' wellness across social, intellectual, physical and spiritual domains. You will collaborate with residents, families, staff and volunteers to cultivate a positive environment that promotes healthy aging.

Responsibilities include preparing space for programs, transporting residents when needed, and advocating for residents’ preferences and progress.

Qualifications

  • CPR certification required.
  • High level of customer service and person-centered care.
  • Enjoyment of creativity and interpersonal interaction through activities.
  • Active driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement and evaluate residents' lifestyle enrichment activities.
  • Prepare rooms, gather supplies, transport residents to activities, clean up spaces.
  • Monitor resident attendance, mood, and involvement to tailor enrichment efforts.
  • Advocate for residents and report changes to supervisor and team.
  • Back-up for community chauffeurs if licensed and DOT/commercial driving rules apply.

Job Description:Summary:The Lifestyle Enrichment Guide helps to plan and implement activities that provide opportunities that support the domains of wellness including social, intellectual, physical and spiritual, supporting the pursuit of personal interests that enrich the lives of the residents; The Lifestyle Enrichment Guide works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment that supports healthy agingEssential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Works collaboratively with the team in the planning, development, organizing, implementing, and evaluation of each resident’s lifestyle enrichment pursuits2. Observes resident attendance, mood, behavior and degree of involvement so that activities supporting lifestyle enrichment and each resident’s individual progress are evaluated to fully support individual needs as well as further development of Lifestyle Enrichment program3. Prepares rooms/areas for lifestyle enrichment programs, gathers all necessary supplies, transports residents to and from activity programs and cleans up rooms/areas after activity programs4. Responds to residents based on their individual activity level and interests, ensuring the resident’s involvement is a reflection of their individual desires5. Functions as each resident’s advocate, communicating to supervisor and other team members any changes observed6. If properly licensed, may serve as a back-up for the community Chauffeurs and transport residents offsite in a vehicle they are licensed to drive (DOT certification and a Class C, A, or B driver’s license if transporting 16 or more passengers including the driver; Class D Illinois or Class E Missouri driver’s license if transporting 15 or fewer passengers including the driver)Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
