Job summary

Ellicott City Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Leader to plan, coordinate, and lead meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a long-term care setting.

The role requires energy, creativity, and a passion for working with seniors. You will lead group and individual activities, coordinate events, and collaborate with nursing, therapy, and social services to support care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Activities, or related field preferred
• Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare activities programming strongly preferred
• Certification as Activities Professional (e.g., ADC, CTRS) a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program tailored to residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs
• Lead daily group and one-on-one activities including recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic programs
• Encourage resident participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment
• Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and social services teams to support individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and program effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to activity programming in long-term care settings
• Assist with volunteer coordination and community engagement opportunities
• Monitor supplies and manage activity program resources effectively

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
