Job summary

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar for long-term care residents.
• Provide large-group, small-group, one-on-one, and independent activities.
• Develop activities based on residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
• Complete required activity assessments, care plan participation, and documentation.
• Lead, train, and support activity staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with the Assisted Living Activities Director on campus events.
• Coordinate resident outings and transportation, including driving a facility vehicle.
• Build relationships with community organizations and volunteers.
• Plan seasonal celebrations and resident-centered programs.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and the activity budget.
• Ensure the activity program meets state and federal requirements.

Are you creative, energetic, and passionate about improving the lives of older adults? LakePoint Augusta is looking for an Activities Director to lead the Life Enrichment program for our long-term care residents.

The right person will take time to understand each resident’s interests, routines, abilities, and preferences while creating meaningful activities that support their physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. This position will also collaborate with our Assisted Living Activities Director on larger campus-wide activities, celebrations, and community events.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Plan and maintain an engaging monthly activity calendar for long-term care residents.
• Provide a variety of large-group, small-group, one-on-one, and independent activities.
• Get to know residents personally and develop activities based on their interests, abilities, and needs.
• Complete required activity assessments, care plan participation, and program documentation.
• Lead, schedule, train, and support long-term care activity staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with the Assisted Living Activities Director on major campus events and celebrations.
• Coordinate resident outings and transportation, including driving a facility vehicle when needed.
• Build relationships with community organizations, entertainers, volunteers, and local partners.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Activity Director certification or other qualifications required by the State of Kansas.
• Previous experience in long-term care, senior living, or an activities-related position is preferred.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine interest in working with older adults.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
• Valid Class C driver’s license and ability to meet facility driving requirements.
