Description
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct resident-centered activities for the facility.
- Stay informed of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards.
- Maintain effective communication with employees at all levels, residents, families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public to meet the needs of residents, the community, and the facility.
- Participate in community planning related to the facility's interests and residents' needs.
- Assist in reviews and develop correction plans for activity deficiencies noted during surveys, and provide reports to the Administrator.
- Participate in various meetings, including staff, department, quality improvement, safety, marketing, and resident/family councils.
- Support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing corrective actions for quality deficiencies.
- Contribute to discharge planning, activity care plans, and resident assessments.
- Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharges as needed.
- Develop monthly activity schedules including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities such as hobbies, crafts, and reading; provide necessary materials, including Braille or audio books.
- Ensure all activity progress notes are detailed and reflect the services provided and residents' responses.
- Assist in supervising and managing activity staff.
