Job Title: ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

Summary

Performs duties that enhance residents' quality of life through various activities, exercises, and games, considering physical limitations when planning activities.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform job duties at an acceptable level following established guidelines and protocols within appropriate time frames.
  • Good communication skills.
Education and Experience

Ability to read, write, speak clearly, and follow written and oral instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must complete and maintain current training requirements under ALF regulations with AHCA.

Other Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of elderly needs.
  • Ability to recognize and report unusual behavior or physical conditions of residents.
  • Familiarity with facility policies and procedures.
  • Stress management, multitasking, decision-making under pressure, organizational skills.
Work Environment

Moderate physical demands including walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan daily and weekly activities considering residents' physical and emotional limitations.
  • Request purchase of activity materials from supervisor.
  • Maintain hygiene and proper hand washing for infection control.
  • Report resident concerns promptly.
  • Complete Resident Observation Reports accurately and timely.
  • Assist residents with shopping and meals, respecting dietary restrictions.
  • Read the daily Communication Log.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
