Complete Care at Christian Home in Waupun, WI is seeking an energetic Activities Director to lead our resident enrichment programming in a warm, supportive, family‑like environment.

This full‑time, day‑shift role involves program design, resident assessments, staff supervision, and administrative oversight in coordination with the Administrator. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Long-Term Care (LTC) activities experience required; supervisory/management experience preferred.
• CTRS or Activity Director Certified (ADC) preferred or eligible.
• Proficiency with documentation and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a diverse activity schedule tailored to residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Conduct individual resident assessments to personalize programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Development: Design and implement a diverse, engaging activity schedule tailored to the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of our residents.
• Resident Assessments: Conduct individual assessments to identify resident preferences, hobbies, and capabilities to personalize programming.
• Department Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and work alongside activities staff and volunteers while managing daily department operations.
• Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate documentation, manage department resources, and fulfill all requirements set by the Administrator.

Required Regulatory Qualifications

Must be a qualified professional who meets at least one of the following state/federal criteria:

• Licensed/registered as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional (or eligible for certification by a recognized accrediting body).
• Has 2 years of experience in a social/recreational program within the last 5 years (including 1 year full-time in a therapeutic activities program).
• Is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
• Has successfully completed a State-approved activity director training course.

Experience & Professional Skills

• Experience: Prior Long-Term Care (LTC) activities experience required; supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Activity Director Certified (ADC) preferred.
• Core Competencies: Proficient computer skills, excellent organization, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Personal Attributes: Strong leadership demeanor with the patience, tact, and composure needed to handle stressful situations and work compassionately with residents, families, and staff.
