Role Description

The Activities Director is a full-time, on-site role based at Tower Lodge Care Center in Wall Township, NJ. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily recreational and therapeutic activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. The Activities Director will design monthly activity calendars, coordinate events and outings, and ensure programs are tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. Responsibilities include supervising activity staff and volunteers, managing the activities budget and supplies, collaborating with nursing, dietary, and rehabilitation teams, and maintaining documentation and compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves engaging residents and families, promoting participation, and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment in all activity spaces.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Candidates should possess Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation skills to plan and deliver engaging, person-centered activities that support resident well-being.
  • Candidates should possess Event Planning skills to organize special programs, holiday celebrations, and group outings that enhance the resident experience.
  • Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to manage activity resources, track expenses, and ensure efficient use of supplies and funds.
  • Experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting is preferred, along with familiarity with state and federal regulations related to resident activities.
  • Relevant certification or degree in Recreation Therapy, Activities Coordination, Social Work, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to lead, train, and motivate staff and volunteers are important.
  • Ability to work on-site, stand and move frequently during activities, and adapt programs to varied physical and cognitive abilities is required.
