Job summary

Fiberhire is seeking an experienced Activities Director for a Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation facility in Stoughton, MA. The role focuses on leading resident activities, coordinating events, and supervising staff to enhance quality of life for seniors.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years in activities work, dementia care certification, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to maintain a vibrant, person-centered activity program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Activities professional.
• Dementia care certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and oversee daily resident activities and programs.
• Create engaging activities that support residents' physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
• Organize games, arts and crafts, entertainment, recreational programs, social events, and special activities.
• Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to individual interests, abilities, and needs.
• Develop and maintain a structured monthly activities calendar.
• Coordinate special events, celebrations, holidays, and community programs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage socialization and meaningful engagement.
• Supervise and provide direction to activity staff and volunteers as needed.
• Prepare and maintain activity materials, supplies, and program areas.
• Work closely with nursing, social services, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate activity records and required documentation.
• Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Evaluate resident participation and adjust programming based on residents' needs and preferences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and stimulating activity environment.

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and experienced Activities Director to lead and oversee our resident activities program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with seniors, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a genuine passion for creating meaningful and engaging experiences for residents.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Activities professional, preferably in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or senior care setting.

• Dementia care certification is required.

• Experience developing and coordinating activities for seniors with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
