Job summary

Villa Maria Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Recreation Director to join our care team in Plainfield Village, Connecticut. This role focuses on creating engaging programs that support residents’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.

The position requires planning, implementing and evaluating activities in alignment with individual care plans. We value LTC experience and a certificate in Therapeutic Recreation, with 1 year of TRD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Therapeutic Recreation or enrollment in an accredited degree program in Therapeutic Recreation.
• Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• TRD: 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs per resident assessment and care plan.
• Previous Long-Term Care experience preferred.

Education
Certificate in Therapeutic Recreation — or be a candidate in an accredited degree program with proof of enrollment and ultimately, completion of a program in Therapeutic Recreation.

Experience in LTC (preferred)
