Description

Summit Place of Kings Mountain is seeking an Activities Director (Program and Outreach Director) to join their team! The Program and Outreach Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Purpose

The Activities Director is responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy, incorporating wellness in all aspects of seniors’ lives. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training the Assistant Program and Outreach Director.

Resident Care

• Participate in the Personalized Service Plans (PSP)
• Refer to the Resident Profile and addendum for each new resident
• Ensure a variety of personalized activities that incorporate all wellness dimensions, available throughout the day and evening with staff participation
• Maintain the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook, tracking resident interest and participation daily
• Organize small groups or clubs based on resident demographics and preferences
• Recognize resident condition changes and take appropriate action
• Assist residents in activities, including transportation to activity rooms and life skills activities in memory care
• Maintain inventory of activity supplies, games, and crafts
• Schedule and facilitate monthly resident Council meetings

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Gerontology, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience in senior living or event planning, including leadership capabilities
• Knowledge of Assisted Living and Dementia care preferred

Physical Requirements

• Stand/walk 4-6 hours/day, sit 2-4 hours/day
• Drive 30-60 minutes weekly
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, 150 lbs. occasionally
• Perform physical activities such as bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching frequently or occasionally as specified
