Activities / Dementia Program Coordinator - Assisted Living - Houston

Exciting ground floor opportunity for a high energy Activities / Dementia Program Coordinator.

Belmont Village at West University is an upscale premier provider of senior living services for the elderly. We are seeking a "hands-on" Coordinator with a background in Geriatrics, Psychology, Education or Recreation Therapy to lead this team.

In this role you will:

  1. Coordinate and Facilitate a wide variety of events and activities for residents with beginning to mid stage Memory Cognitive Impairment diagnosis.
  2. Interface with and provide information to resident's family members through meetings, special events and quarterly meetings.
  3. Oversee the Memory Enrichment and Dementia programs.
  4. Train, direct and supervise caregivers and activity staff for this department.
  5. Model and maintain the integrity of the "person centered" programming.

You will need to possess the following qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years Management experience.
  2. Minimum of a BA degree in a related field - such as Psychology, Geriatrics, Education.
  3. Minimum of 1 year experience working with the elderly.
  4. Proven Supervisory skills.
  5. Competency with Microsoft Office and Publisher.
  6. Preference will be given to candidates with 1+ years hands-on residential activity facilitation in a dementia or developmental disabled environment.
