The Glenview at Pelican Bay in Naples, FL is seeking an Activities Coordinator focused on hospitality and resident well-being. You will plan and implement a varied activity program aligned with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness and LCS Lifestyles requirements, coordinating events, assessments, calendars, and volunteer participation.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree or have a therapeutic recreation background, and pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Therapeutic recreation specialist credential preferred or 2 years experience in licensed healthcare setting within last 5 years.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Vaccination status may be requested for certain roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outings, events and visits.
• Produces monthly calendars and promotional materials.
• Interviews and develops individual resident assessments to tailor recreational programs.
• Suggests a program of activities to relatives for discharge planning and refers to community resources.
• Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings; arranges special meetings.
• Directs movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
• Prepares and maintains reports, studies and schedules per regulations.
• Purchases and inventories supplies; inspects equipment for maintenance and cleanliness.
• Interprets goals of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
• Directs volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
• Maintains documentation of residents’ progress and responses to the program.

Job description

The Glenview at Pelican Bay is a premier continuing care retirement community located in beautiful, sunny Naples, Florida.

We are currently considering candidates for a hospitality focused Activities Coordinator. Candidates must have a desire to join a great team dedicated to providing outstanding and superior hospitality.

We currently have the following shifts available: Full-time.

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the requirements of LCS Lifestyles and Health Services and the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

The Activities Coordinator will assist our residents with services including but not limited to:

• Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off- campus outings, special events and one-on-one visits, as indicated.
• Produces monthly calendars and other promotional material
• Interviews and develops the individual resident assessments to accurately provide recreational programs based on individual needs and resident interest.
• Suggests a program of recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
• Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings. Arranges special meetings for residents and families to address special interests and provide educational opportunities.
• Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
• Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Purchases and inventories supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
• Interprets the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
• Directs volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
• Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.

Skills/Qualifications:

A Bachelor degree is preferable. A qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or two years experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting within the last five years is preferred as well. Must pass an extensive criminal background check and drug screen.
