Columbia Cottage Assisted Living seeks an Activities Coordinator to design and run engaging programs for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. The role emphasizes dementia-friendly activities that stimulate cognition, mobility, and social interaction, while collaborating with care teams and families.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior living environment, specifically with Memory Care residents.
• Knowledge of dementia/Alzheimer's disease and therapeutic approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, and staff.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
• Plan and coordinate therapeutic and recreational activities for cognitive and physical well-being and social engagement.
• Collaborate with the care team to tailor activities to individual resident needs.
• Maintain records of participation and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere encouraging resident involvement and community.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team and focus on our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with seniors, particularly those with memory impairments, and will be dedicated to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment. If you have experience in planning and implementing activities that enhance the quality of life for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the needs and preferences of residents in both Assisted Living and Memory Care.
• Plan and coordinate a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities to promote cognitive stimulation, physical well-being, and social engagement.
• Collaborate with the care team to understand the individual needs and abilities of each resident and adjust activities accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' participation in activities and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
• Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages resident involvement and a sense of community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a senior living environment, specifically with residents in Memory Care.
• Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, as well as an understanding of therapeutic approaches to support individuals with memory impairments.

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Activity Director Certified preferred

Schedule

• Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
