Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Miles City, MT seeks an experienced Activity Director for the Residential Living Unit. You will plan, organize, and direct the activity program following federal/state guidelines and oversee staff, volunteers, and community partners.

You will develop individualized resident care plans, offer evening/weekend activities, and maintain a quality assurance program. Montana licensure eligibility and CNA/BLS credentials are required or achievable within timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible MT therapeutic recreation/activities professional.
• Eligible for MT Activity Director certification within 1 year of hire.
• CNA certification in Montana or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized care plans for residents using MDS/RAI and residents’ interests.
• Develop activity programs complying with state/federal regulations to meet medical, spiritual, social, and recreational needs.
• Include evening and weekend activities and adapt for physical, mobility, sensory, and cognitive deficits.
• Coordinate with community agencies, volunteers, and staff to provide activities.
• Manage supplies and budgets; arrange transportation when needed.
• Collaborate on resident council planning and reporting of results.
• Maintain quality assurance and supervise activities staff; provide coaching and appraisals.
• Schedule activities to align staff coverage with offerings and resident needs.

This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
