High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree with a major in public administration, public health, nutrition, education, or any related human services field preferred.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, de‑escalation strategies, resiliency, resourcefulness, creativity, flexibility, collaborative thinking, effective decision‑making, time management, empathy and crisis management skills.
At least one year of direct experience in recreational and social programs. Preferred prior experience in serving persons with intellectual and/or developmental differences.
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to pass background clearance and pre‑employment drug screening.
All employees of The Arc Jacksonville must complete a background screening housed and managed by the Agency for Health Care Administration called the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse is a first‑in‑the‑nation enterprise system for background screening results of individuals required by law to undergo screening for employment in positions that provide services to vulnerable populations, as mandated by section 435.12, Florida Statutes.
