Job summary

Cooper River Post Acute in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Weekend Activities Assistant to join our caring team. This Part-Time, weekends-only role runs Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a pay rate of $17/hour.

You’ll assist the Activity Director by creating and leading fun, interactive programs for residents, planning activities, coordinating outings, and helping with calendars and records. A strong team mindset and genuine compassion for seniors are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Positive attitude and outgoing personality.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating and leading fun, interactive programs for residents.
• Plan and conduct individual, small group, and large group activities.
• Encourage participation in crafts, games, music, reading, hobbies, and special events.
• Assist with resident outings and transportation as needed.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Provide one-on-one and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or prefer quieter engagement.
• Assist with resident assessments, care plans, and documentation as assigned.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Activity Department.

Weekend Activities Assistant – Part Time

What You’ll Do
