Job summary

LCB Senior Living is seeking an Activity Assistant at The Residence at Pearl Street. This part-time role offers 12-18 hours weekly with rotating Saturdays, and pays $19.00–$21.00 per hour based on experience.

You will help plan, develop, and implement activities for residents, assist with transportation, newsletters, and volunteer programs, while maintaining a caring, professional relationship with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Assist in developing and implementing activities for residents.
• Create interest in activities and motivate residents to participate daily.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrate creativity and motivation to enhance the Activities Program.
• Must be able to use basic office software and calendar/newsletter tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing residence activities.
• Suggest ideas to improve and expand the Activities Program.
• Maintain a warm, professional relationship with residents and families.
• Assist with transportation arrangements for activities as needed.
• Contribute to volunteer programs and resident newsletters or calendars.
• Assist residents with movement to and from activities and with the residence store.

Gerontology experience preferred.Certificates/Licenses: A valid drivers license in the state of work is required with no more than two moving violations in a three year period as determined by our insurance broker.Physical Demands:Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.Visual and auditory acuity.Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs., and be able to carry objects.Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
