Job Summary:
Salus Lifestyle Coordinator (Activities Assistant) is responsible for assisting the Salus Lifestyle Coach in providing a diversified program of individual and group activities. These activities aim to enable each Resident to engage in cultural, spiritual, physical, political, social, and intellectual pursuits within the Community, promoting each Resident’s potential and sense of usefulness to self and others.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in activity planning, preferably with seniors
- Interest and experience in working with seniors
- Creative activity skills
- Organizational skills
- Mature, pleasant, friendly, and cheerful personality
- Driver Requirements: Valid state driver license, clean driving record, and completion of all HR policies and procedures for Community drivers
Essential Functions:
- Provide outstanding service to Residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors
- Facilitate socialization among Residents
- Invite and remind Residents to participate in planned activities
- Coordinate joint programs with other Program Associates
- Lead the majority of programs
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule for special events and evening/weekend programs
- Train and support volunteers assisting with activities
- Plan and help implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays
- Coordinate family functions and events
- Plan weekly excursions
- Identify supplies needed for activities to the Salus Lifestyle Coach
- Assist with transportation for outings and group trips
- Drive the company vehicle for Resident activities and appointments when certified and approved
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth program operation and meet Resident needs
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all emergency procedures
- Understand safety policies and procedures
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with the Salus Lifestyle Coach and Community staff
- Immediately report any changes in Residents’ physical and mental health to the Salus Lifestyle Coach and Resident Care Director
- Promote the Community positively and communicate its values effectively to Residents, families, and staff
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or advertising
- May be video recorded by devices installed by families in residents’ apartments
