Join us as an Activities Assistant (PRN) at FREEDOM POINTE AT THE VILLAGES, LLC

Position Overview

We are recruiting an Activities Assistant to work with residents in both group and one-on-one settings, providing enriching activities that address the Dimensions of Wellness: Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Social, Environmental, and Intellectual.

Schedule

PRN: 1 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday per month, including some holidays and coverage as needed.

Daily Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of new residents.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation.
• Distribute activity calendars.
• Lead daily group activities.
• Arrange one-on-one visits and activities.
• Participate in activities assistant workshops when available.
• Help prepare monthly calendars.
• Assist with charting.
• Continuously seek ways to improve safety for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Support residents in attending programs.
• Encourage resident participation in activities.
• Assist with set-up and clean-up for events like parties and luncheons.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in human services or therapeutic recreation (preferred).
• Experience in long-term care (preferred).
• Experience planning and delivering programs for seniors (preferred).
• Experience working with the geriatric population.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.
