Job summary

Country Meadows Retirement Communities in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to create engaging experiences for residents and encourage participation in arts and wellness. Pay starts at $17.00-$18.00/hour with potential for more based on experience, and every other weekend/holiday off.

You will lead outings to theaters, museums and community events, plan on- and offsite activities with staff, and support residents in pursuing meaningful daily living.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to lead and engage residents in social activities.
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations in past 3 years.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role.

• Drive residents' interest in a dynamic lifestyle to promote pride and purpose.
• Venture out with residents to theaters, museums, sports events, restaurants and other destinations.
• Team up with the Activities Coordinator or Associate to plan on- and offsite events.
• Guide volunteers to create meaningful impact and support resident engagement.
• Promote a positive, enthusiastic environment to motivate participation.

As the Activities Assistant Part-Time, you will create experiences with all members of our community and encourage residents to participate. We are seeking individuals who value the company of older adults, lead with a big picture mentality and appreciate the arts and wellness.

Current Opportunities:

• Part-time 9:00am to 4:00pm, with every other weekend and every other holiday OFF
  • Week one: Work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (12:30pm-7:00), Saturday
  • Week two: Work Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Activities Assistant Part-Time Job Responsibilities:

• Generate ideas for new and favorite experiences.

• Team up with the Activities Coordinator and/or Associate in preparing and planning on and offsite events and activities.

Activities Assistant Part-Time Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in group socialization or recreational programs preferred but not required.
• Leadership style that is energetic, personable, positive, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative.
• Ability to communicate intentions and directions to residents and co-workers. Be an active listener/empathetic.
• Strong motivational skills to positively influence resident participation.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations in the past three years.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
