A leading care center is seeking an Activities Assistant to engage residents in various activities and support their interests. The role involves planning events, coordinating with families, and maintaining records to ensure a lively and enjoyable environment for all residents. Ideal candidates will have at least a high school diploma and experience in long-term care.
Activities Assistant-H (Healthcare)
Participate in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities. Assist in ensuring effective communication between employees at all levels, residents, their families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public to meet the needs and interests of residents, the community, and the facility. Contribute to community planning related to the facility's interests and the needs of residents and their families.
Assist in developing the monthly activity calendar and maintaining attendance records. Support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in creating and implementing plans to address quality deficiencies as directed by the Activities Director. Participate in discharge planning, and develop and implement activity care plans and resident assessments.
Help arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharges. Develop a monthly activity schedule that includes outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents. Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities such as hobbies, crafts, and reading, providing materials like Braille or audiobooks as needed.
Assist with documentation, including quarterly progress notes, as assigned by the Activities Director. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Activity Department. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
