Job summary

A leading organization in the field of developmental disabilities is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant for their Corning Day Habilitation program. The position involves working directly with consumers to implement individualized outcomes and support skill-building activities. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and preferably one year of relevant experience. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, with a competitive hourly wage of $17.50 to $20.00 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in Developmental Disabilities or a related field.
  • Must meet criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities:

The Activities Assistant is responsible for implementing assigned outcomes for each consumer as determined by his/her Service Planning Team. Responsibilities include working cooperatively with the Program Supervisor on paperwork, assisting with skill-building activities, implementing schedules, and ensuring services meet the needs, preferences, and interests of consumers. The role also involves mentoring new staff and addressing supervisory concerns with the Program Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurability guidelines.
  • Must meet criminal background check requirements, including fingerprinting if having regular and substantial unsupervised physical contact with individuals in OPWDD-regulated programs.
