Responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out recreational programs, group activities, and holiday celebrations.
  • Encourage residents to participate and stay engaged.
  • Transport residents to activities as needed and prepare spaces.
  • Organize and store equipment for activities.
  • Communicate with residents' families and involve them in activities.
  • Promote a positive, welcoming environment and respect resident dignity.
  • Ensure safety and comfort during all activities.

Job Summary

Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team. As an Activities Assistant, you will help create an engaging, stimulating, and welcoming environment for our residents.

You will assist with planning and implementing recreational programs, group activities, special events, and holiday celebrations designed to meet the individual needs and interests of our residents. If you are passionate about working with seniors and making a meaningful difference in their lives, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special events, and holiday celebrations that meet residents' needs and interests.
  • Support, encourage, and motivate residents to participate in activities.
  • Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
  • Facilitate activities while maintaining awareness of all participating residents.
  • Clean up after each activity and prepare the space and supplies for upcoming activities.
  • Assemble, dismantle, organize, and store equipment and supplies used in recreational programs.
  • Communicate with residents' families and encourage their involvement in activities.
  • Promote a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for residents.
  • Support resident dignity, safety, and comfort during all activities.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to working with residents.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work the required hours and rotation.
