Job summary

Hallkeen-Assisted-Living-Communities in Weymouth, MA is seeking an Activities Coordinator to provide engaging programs that support residents’ mental, physical, spiritual and social needs. You will lead group and individual activities, and assist during director absences with planning and execution.

The role requires creativity, reliability, and strong computer/calendar skills, plus the ability to lift and assist with residents as needed. This on-site position offers a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques.
• Creative and motivational; able to oversee daily programming in the absence of the program director.
• Computer skills and knowledge of calendar software.
• Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and lift.
• Experience working with elders.

Responsibilities

• Carries out preplanned activities and creates new programming with approval by Activities Director.
• Prepare and clean up of supplies.
• Accompany residents with an aide on monthly outings to prearranged locations.
• Develop daily activity posters and monthly newsletter.
• Welcome new residents and introduce them to the activities of the community.
• Assist other managers with special functions for residents (theme dinners or holiday decorating).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques. Candidate must be creative and motivational, have the ability to over see daily programming in the temporary absence of program director. Computer skills required and knowledge of calendar software. Job requires frequent bending, stretching, stooping and lifting. Great smile, ability to laugh and have experience working with elders.

Duties and Responsibilities
