Job summary

Lineage Care Group seeks an Activities Aide for Schofield Residence in Kenmore, NY. This part-time role supports residents with engaging programs during the 2nd shift, 12:30–8:30pm, with rotating weekends, to enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting residents, and coordinating with volunteers to run activities, while fostering a warm, compassionate environment for the elderly.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate. Some understanding of the needs of the elderly.
• Experience: One year working directly with the elderly is preferred.
• Character: Must be patient, compassionate and have good moral character.

Responsibilities

• Accept and perform daily assignments as given by supervisor.
• Prepare activities tools and materials for residents.
• Prepare the space where activities will be held.
• Assist residents who need help during activities.
• Clean up tools and materials after each program.
• Encourage social interaction and resident engagement.
• Assist volunteers in activities with residents.
• Conduct programs independently when needed.
• Transport residents as necessary.
• Support residents' sense of self-worth and pride in accomplishments.

Salary Range: $16.83 - $20.11 Hourly

Job Shift: 2nd Shift

Shift: 2 days/week, 12:30-8:30pm, rotating weekends

Position Summary:

The Activities Aide is responsible for specific duties delegated by the Director of Activities. This individual will conduct programs beneficial to the needs and wants of the residents. Must have the ability to work effectively with the elderly.

Key Responsibilities:

QualificationsQualifications:

• Education and Training – A high school graduate with knowledge and instructional ability in crafts, games and activities will be considered. Some understanding of the physio-social limitations of the elderly is required.
• Experience - One year experience in working directly with the elderly is preferred.
• Character - The individual must possess good moral character, patience and compassion for the elderly.
